Fast-forwarding to the Present

In our history, we have had the ancient Greek philosophers who have influenced and founded our modern government. The European Enlightenment gave us further insight to the forms of government and the pros and cons of it. There was an are of revolution where countries revolted to make a change from one government to another. Then came the Industrial revolution, where most of the inventions we take granted today were first thought of. After the revolutions, there was a huge wave of nationalism and imperialism where the countries rushed to develop themselves and gain world power. When the assassination of the archduke brought a world war, the alliances came into play and ended in a devastating economic trouble. The economic trouble brought with it the rise of the totalitarian governments which led to the start of the second world war. After winning the cold war, communism and capitalism rushed to gain a bigger influence in the world. New developing countries are being established in this growing world. Now in the present, democracy seems to the the better form of government, but the future is yet to be told.
