About the Great Philosopher Plato

Plato believes that democracy is a bad form of government. He sees it as a bad form of government because the democratic government killed Socrates, his teacher. His quote, “And so tyranny naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme form of liberty,” (Plato, 360 BC) means that all forms of democracy are flawed, and a flawed democracy will lead to a dictatorship. The government is very cruel and the people will be oppressed in a democratic government.

About the Great Philosopher Aristotle

Aristotle believes that the best government is democracy because it has liberty and equality. He believes that when the people share the government, they can then all be satisfied. (Aristotle, 350 BC) The government must abide by the law and no one shall stand above it. Everyone must share the government for this to work. They must ealso not believe that one may be better than the other.
