The Shocking World War I

The First World War started with the assassination of the archduke Francis. (Elemen) At first, Austria was reluctant to declare a war. In 1914, the war started. When the war started, the alliances held by the Triple Entente and the Triple Alliance kicked in. The war brought relief to internal troubles, but caused fearful casualties. New weapons and machinery made the war very dangerous and tiring. After the Ottoman joined the war, it ceased to exist due to the internal revolts it had. In the end, the Allies claimed victory and made the Treaty of Versailles. (Elemen) The Treaty of Versailles made it so that Germany would be weakened severely with little hope of recovery. A League of Nations was proposed by Woodrow Wilson. (Elemen) It was suppose to keep the peace within the European countries and prevent another world war.
